Atlanta homebuyers — or, at least those who enjoy hours of scrolling through Zillow listings — are keen on Midtown.
Midtown is the Atlanta neighborhood drawing the most interest from homebuyers on Zillow, according to a new study by HouseFresh. Listings in Midtown drew more than 11,000 daily views on Zillow, per the study. That was nearly twice as many views as the next Intown neighborhood.
The Midtown housing market consists of single-family and townhomes on residential streets and high-rise condos in the dense heart of the neighborhood.
There were 134 home sales in Midtown during the first three months of this year, according to First Multiple Listing Service. That was down 35% compared to the same period in 2022. Midtown’s median sale price of roughly $361,000 was down 2% year over year.
Princeton Lakes, a neighborhood just outside the perimeter in Atlanta’s Westside, had the second-most daily views on Zillow, per the study. Ansley Park, North Buckhead and West End rounded out the top five.
HouseFresh examined Zillow data for the 100 most populous cities in the United States in October 2022. The company calculated the page views per day for each listing and averaged the number of daily views across each neighborhood. HouseFresh excluded neighborhoods that didn’t have at least 10 listings.
The company, which offers buying guides for air purifiers, initially pulled the data for a proposed study comparing air quality and real estate preferences, The New York Times reported. The results were inconclusive, but HouseFresh published its popularity study based on the information.
